Superpowers tend to have several strategies they work towards executing to serve their interests. America, who dominates the international situation unchallenged and covets to make this century her own, has without a doubt a host of strategies throughout the whole world and she is working tirelessly towards executing them. She usually requires some pretexts and contrivances to justify her conducts and her political actions. This is what makes her intervention in some part of the world not the intended target.
Hence, America did not enter Afghanistan with her armed forces to leave without achieving what she had come for. She did not occupy Afghanistan for its riches, or to exact revenge from al-Qaeda or Usama Bin Laden for an event that she had earlier fabricated, to contribute significantly towards orchestrating her unrivalled dominion in the 21st century.
The Policy Planning Staff at the US State Department, who recommended the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq, had described the former as a volcano on the brink of erupting and wreaking havoc in all the surrounding areas. Since America was capable of controlling and using the obedient tools, and even exploiting her fiercest opponents, this meant that she had acquired the ability to occasion the eruption of the volcano and steer it to suit her interests, especially that Afghanistan’s location makes it a candidate to play several roles.
